Big Day

We had a big "Medical Day" for us-Kaia and I had to go through about 5 doctors, wanting to check us out, make sure we were 'adequate' for the job. Really crazy-took all day, with a break to see Sylvi again. She was dressed up in pretty whites, but a little quiet and subdued today. We did get to see where she lives, sleeps and plays. All in one room. We watched her being fed. Ugh! Pitiful, so FAST and SUCH a BIG spoon! The craziest thing we have ever seen-but she didn't mind.
It was sad to know that we have to leave tomorrow, although she seems to be in good hands, we are so scared for her. We'll have more stories when we get home, but just kind of what you'd expect in an orphanage with 100 babies in it. We are a little sad tonight, but know that we will have her soon, and make her ours this spring. We just can't wait for that. To come back here, all four of us; and make her ours!
We know tomorrow will be hard to say goodbye. We knew this coming; but it still will be a long flight home.

Our hearts are aching for you, but the strength and love that you have shown will carry through until you have Sylvi home. May God bless this beautiful child and YOU! Love from home!

Now that you have held her in your arms, you will have these memories in your hearts to help you get through these next few months. The smile on your Mom's face when she announced to the church Sylvi Lois DeBoer was your new daughter, was the biggest I have seen her smile. She will bring joy to many people. Safe travels with your memories.

Know that you are on our hearts and minds constantly... we pray for strength and safe travels for you two and that Jesus would place a hedge of protection around Sylvi until she is back in your arms... Hurry up Spring, Hurry up!! None of us will ever be the same because of Sylvi and this journey you've been on... so thankful to be a part of it. We love you!! Hugs and kisses to that sweet baby girl... See you soon.
